ABOUT
Jan Olive Full, Ph.D. has been principal and manager of a cultural resource management firm since 1993. Working largely in Iowa, Full has written dozens of successful nominations to the National Register of Historic Places, including numerous historic commercial districts in small towns and large cities. She is author of the National Register multiple property document on Iowa’s Main Streets and has a field guide to Midwest small-town commercial architecture in the works. Bridges, schools, barns, industrial plants, and 19th century residences are among the property types Full has documented to Iowa State Historic Preservation Office standards and Historic American Building Survey-level format. These documentation projects include photography, historical narratives, and public history publications. Full’s National Register nominations frequently are completed in connection with state and federal historic preservation tax credit projects. Her Section 106 and Federal Highway Administration-mandated evaluations have included large DOT highway surveys involving hundreds of rural and urban properties as well as single-property studies for municipalities. Clients include property owners, architects, the state DOT, developers, and cities of all sizes.
